Meet Coach K: Mentor
Sustained success under Mike Krzyzewski has presented coaching opportunities for several of his former players and assistant coaches from both Army and Duke. In all, seven of Coach K’s former players and assistants are head coaches at the Division I level: Johnny Dawkins (Stanford), Tommy Amaker (Harvard), Robert Brickey (Shaw), Mike Brey (Notre Dame), Jeff Capel (Oklahoma), Mike Dement (UNC Greensboro) and Neil Dougherty (TCU). In addition, several others are assistant coaches at the Division I level, including three former players who are Duke’s Associate Head Coaches, Steve Wojciechowski, Chris Collins and and Assistant Coach Nate James.
