Subject:Visiting a national shrine
Story:Dear Coach K,

My family and I will be visting Duke University this upcoming July 2 and 3. We are coming from Decatur, IL to visit a place that my 17 year old daughter considers a "shrine." This will be fulfilling a near lifelong dream that she has had since she was a little girl of three years old who fell in love with Duke University and "Coach K" watching the team play on television. While we won't have a chance to meet you, I just wanted to let you know that your "spirit" and influence are felt even by those who only know you through television and the media. The way that you coach and teach about life are felt by people you may not even realize whose lives you are touching. Thank you for being an inspiration, especially to a 17 year old girl from Illinois who will always consider herself a "Cameron Crazy."  God bless.

Sincerely,

Kim Bauer

Subject:Gold Standard/Book Signing
Story:I met Coach K for the 1st time at his Barnes & Nobles 'Gold Standard' book signing in NYC. I was nervous waiting in line thinking of what to say because of how much I admire him. When my time came to meet him I was on cloud 9! He was so nice and shook my hand and asked me how I was doing... I'm in my 30's and still got chills like I was 13 yrs old watching him celebrate Duke's 2nd National Title.. He was very nice and displayedthe same charisma as he does in interviews/press conferences. Thanks for being a great coach, but more importantly, thanks soo much for being a great person!

Your books inspire greatness!

Thanks again,

Mike

Subject:Celebration of Reading.
Story:I had the pleasure of spending some time with Coach K at a rather large event in Wash.D.C. My sister introduced us and Coach K could not have been more engaging. He spent a good bit of time talking about the Olympic team, his new hips, President Bush's works along with Barbara Bush's tremendous energy and love of service to others. Although the Bush family was the star of the night along with several other gifted authors, my easy and friendly conversation with Coach K was a highlight. I wish the Ya-hoos who spend so much time cheering against him, and his team, would direct that energy towards a better cause, think of the work they wold be able to accomplish.

Coach K thanks for all the great work you have done to help others........ I know you have a sense of pride in what you have been able to accomplish.

Subject:An Inspired Fan
Story:Just wanted to say Coach I have been an inspired fan for some time now. I listen and hear all of your media talks and speech's which are truely inspiring to me personally and professionally. I have just graduated from Ball State University with a sports marketing degree, and wanted to say you're words to your players and fans are very empowering and respectful. I am from Indiana originally where my sister is attending IU and our family is a fan of Bob Knight and yourself, where I know you get some of your strengths from by playing under him.  I have read your book (Leading with the Heart) and I was amazed by all of the teaching skills not only about basketball but about life in general you wrote about in the book. Long story short Sir, your not only a great teacher and coach, but an inspiration. I work and live by your teachings everyday! I am now engaged to best woman I know, living in Bradenton, Florida working for Under Armour as a manager at a store working my way into the sports world. I wanted to say thanks for all of your inspiration and words over the years!

Subject:coach k
Story:Coach K. is so down to earth and very humble.  I work at a Las Vegas casino and every time I've seen Coach K. and his wife Carol, they are very approachable and so easy to talk to.  I'm pretty sure he remembers me because I always make a point to talk to him and I'm not someone that you could easily forget.  I believe him when he says I love Pres. B. Obama because I just watched him on Morning Joe and he said it again and with a smile, I  love you too Coach K. Stay true to yourself always.
